Vinyl Decal Installation
Vinyl Decal Installation:
The recommended temperature to install your vinyl decal is between 46 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Avoid installing your decal to hot surfaces or in direct sunlight.
There are two methods to installing your decal: a dry and a wet method.
Note: There are many videos online that show the application processes listed below.
Dry Method Installation:
Tools needed: decal, squeegee or credit card, soap and water, alcohol, paper towels and tape measure or masking tape if needed for ease of alignment. Note: pre-plan on angle and exact placement of the decal as there is no adjusting the position after placement with this method. Once it sticks that will be the location of the decal.
Clean area you wish to apply your decal with soap and water, dry area and wipe the preferred decal location with alcohol for a clean application area.
Once dry, make any necessary measurements and mark with masking tape (used for alignment marks). Peel the application tape from the decal backing on an angle slowly. Note: If any part of the decal does not lift with the application tape, simply lay the tape back down and place on a hard surface and burnish (rub) the decal with your squeegee or credit card and retry lifting.
Once decal is removed from backing, carefully place your decal in the desired location. After placement, burnish (rub) the transfer tape with your squeegee or credit card to apply and remove any air bubbles. Peel transfer tape back at a 180 degree angle slowly to expose the decal. If any part of the decal lifts up in this process, simply lay the transfer tape back over the decal and burnish again to promote adhesion. Continue to remove the transfer tape completely. Your decal should now be attached to the surface on which it was applied.
You are now finished and able to enjoy your new decal. Wait about two weeks before washing vehicles. If placed on mugs or other small items; hand wash as needed.
Wet Method Installation:
Tools needed: decal, squeegee or credit card, soap and water, spray bottle, alcohol, paper towels and tape measure or masking tape if needed for ease of alignment.
Clean area you wish to apply your decal with soap and water, dry area and wipe the preferred decal location with alcohol for a clean application area.
Make any necessary measurements and mark with masking tape on the dry surface (used for alignment marks). Take spray bottle and fill with water and a couple drops of dish soap. Spray application site liberally and peel the application tape from the decal backing on an angle slowly. Note: If any part of the decal does not lift with the application tape, simply lay the tape back down and place on a hard surface and burnish (rub) the decal with your squeegee or credit card and retry lifting.
Once decal is removed from backing spray your soap and water solution liberally on the sticky part of the decal. Decal can now be placed and moved around until the desired location is reached. After placing decal, burnish the transfer tape with your squeegee or credit card to remove all water and any air bubbles from under the decal.
